Councils are responsible for maintaining our highways and pathways which they check on a regular basis. If a path or a road is defective in some way and the council are notified and still fail to repair, the result could be an injured person followed by a hefty bill for compensation.

Whilst we should always be encouraged to report any defects to the appropriate council we should also remember it is our right to claim compensation when we are injured.
