Injuries at the Hair Salon
Claim Compensation

Going to the hairdressers for some people can be as daunting as going to the dentist, and sometimes, it can be much more painful!

Any one of us can probably recount a tale of despair following a trip to the salon because our locks finished up shorter than we anticipated or not quite the colour we were hoping for. Sometimes though, a small minority of customers do find themselves with severe burns to the scalp and even face following treatment.

Should the unthinkable happen and you find yourself with a blistered scalp from chemical burns, please see our steps below on what to do.

1. It is imperative that medical attention is sought as soon as possible.
2. Advise the salon of your injuries and request to speak to the manager or owner. It is a good idea to take photographs of the damaged area in case they cannot see you immediately.
3. Contact the Hairdressing Council who will advise if the hairdresser is state registered and the options available.
4. Should you decide to seek further recourse for the damages, contact a company who is regulated to deal with personal injury claims who will handle your case on a “no win - no fee” basis.

The hairdressing industry is an unregulated industry and it is worth making sure a stylist comes highly recommended and is officially approved by the Hairdressing Council.
