| Personal Injury News: Compensation success for employee |
| A machine operator has won a compensation claim against their former employer after he developed dermatitis at work. The ex employee developed the rash on his hands following prolonged contact with oils and lubricants whilst employed by Mone Brothers Civil Engineering Ltd from 1985 – 2004. During these two decades James Quinn alleged that the responsibility for this condition lay with the ex employer as they were negligent in not supplying adequate washing facilities or personal protective equipment. Employers should be aware of the risk in exposing their employees to harmful substances, warned the Lee Carnell, the solicitor representing the claimant. He further advised “This skin condition caused unnecessary discomfort and if the correct preventative measures were taken then this would never have occurred” The claim was settled for an undisclosed sum out of court.
