Personal Injury News: Fighter pilot awarded damages
Damages of almost £350,000 have been awarded to a trainee fighter pilot who was injured during a training flight.

The man was injured in August 2000 following a five-G turn performed by the instructor, without warning, leaving the pilot permanently unfit in the eyes of the Royal Navy and unable to fly fast jets.

Despite receiving treating to his injured neck on returning from the exercise, the injury ultimately lead to his leaving the service in January 2004.

Awarding the damages, the judge stated that the pilot had been left with a chronically painful condition and had become angry and frustrated at the loss of a career that would have led him to a job in civil aviation.
