Personal Injury News: Poor patient care remains a secret
Consumer group Which? has surveyed one thousand NHS patients and recorded almost 50 per cent of them were unhappy with some part of their stay, but many patients do not complain about the service as they believe it will not make a positive difference and may even lead to worse service.

A spokesperson for the Healthcare Commission said that patients expected their complaints to be handled quickly, robustly, independently and at a local level. “It is important that trusts make their complaints systems open and accessible to all. That means creating an environment that provides reassurance that patients complaints will be listened and acted on."

Katherine Murphy, of the Patients Association, said that patients found it very difficult to complain whilst they were in hospital receiving treatment, “we need to make it much easier for patients to complain and reassure them that it's not going to jeopardise their on-going care and something constructive will come out of it."
