Ten Steps to Claiming Compensation
Claim Compensation
  1. Something happens which is not your fault and which causes you injury, loss or damage
  2. Collect information such as the contact details for any potential witnesses
  3. Collect photographic evidence of the damage
  4. Seek medical attention for your injuries
  5. Make detailed notes about what happened, when and where, as soon as possible
  6. Consider whether you want to make a claim, attempt to prevent it happening again or simply receive an apology
  7. Source a personal injury specialist to discuss your case with
  8. Ascertain the likelihood of a successful outcome
  9. Seek confirmation of a ‘no win no fee’ agreement
  10. Engage a solicitor to represent you in securing a claim for compensation for your injuries.

Finally, be aware that accidents do happen. To start a successful claim, not only must you not be at fault but there MUST be a third party who is and this is the key as in some instances there is no third party to blame which means that a claim cannot be brought.
